Clinical /Counselling Psychologist – Salford Early Intervention (EIP/EDIT)
We are delighted to offer an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Psychologist/Practitioner Psychologist to step into a newly established Band 8b Clinical Lead role within our vibrant and friendly Salford Early Intervention in Psychosis service (EIP) and the Early Detection and Intervention Team (EDIT).
The post holder will provide direct clinical work and support all aspects of psychological and psychosocial intervention work carried within the EI and EDIT teams. This includes supervision, consultation, training, and co‑working opportunities, and promoting a normalising, trauma‑informed, continuum‑based approach to understanding psychosis.
Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist direct clinical work (assessment and formulation‑driven evidence‑based interventions) for people experiencing first‑episode psychosis and their families.
* Provide clinical leadership and governance of all psychological work within the Salford EI and EDIT services.
* Promote Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) and Family Intervention work.
* Supervise, consult and train staff; input to multidisciplinary team discussions.
* Develop and evaluate new evidence‑based psychological interventions.
* Contribute to service development, audit and research activities as required.
* Engage with psychology leads in other community and acute services; attend local and Trust‑wide meetings.
* Facilitate trainee placements.
Qualifications
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent (HCPC registered).
Experience
* Substantial post‑qualification experience in adult mental health, especially psychosis.
* Extensive experience working within multidisciplinary NHS teams.
* Expertise in CBTp and Family Interventions.
* Significant supervision and leadership experience.
