You will work 37 hours per week, over a 2-week rolling shift system, covering the hours of 7am – 6pm. MEET THE TEAM
HBC’s Fleet team are a successful Transport News Northern Fleet Of The Year award winning, well experienced team that work together to make sure that HBC’s vehicle fleet is maintained to the highest standards. The team provides the following services:
* MOT’s and servicing to HBC’s internal fleet as well as external lighter goods vehicles
* Maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of HBC’s municipal fleet, meaning each day can be different in terms of the types of repairs and vehicles that you work on.
* Preparing all of HBC’s HGV and PSV for MOT and providing an ATF lane service for both internal and external HGV and PSV vehicles.
You will support our fleet maintenance and inspection programmes, and associated taxi inspection and MOT services, at our modern Vehicle Maintenance Facility which provides:
* HGV, trailer and PSV equipped maintenance and servicing facilitiesBrilliant heating and lighting facilities within the vehicle workshop so that staff can work comfortably all year round.
* Authorised Testing Facility for HGV’s and PSV’s.
* Taxi inspection and MOT services.
* Vehicle wash and inspection preparation facilities.
* Fuel bay and vehicle fuel management service.
* Metal Fabrication service.
This is a permanent post with the expectation that you will:
* Work on our heavy goods, passenger transport, vans and specialist vehicle fleet undertaking regular inspections, planned preventative maintenance and repairs.
* After training and qualification as an MOT tester provide, support as necessary to our taxi inspection and MOT services.
* Participate in training and continuous professional development as necessary to support Fleet Workshop accreditations.
