A Federal Government Agency is seeking two experienced APS5 Data Officers to join the Business Insights and Governance (BIG) Team within the NSW Regional Service Operations. The BIG Team focuses on collaboration, strategic alignment, and data-driven insights to support service delivery, governance, and compliance.
The APS5 Data Officer will play a key role in delivering high-quality data analysis and reporting to support regional performance and evidence-based decision-making. Operating under limited direction, this role involves moderately complex to complex data tasks and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Extract, clean, and analyse operational data to support service delivery insights
6. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Salesforce, and SAS
7. Conduct research and analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored reporting solutions
9. Support data quality assurance processes
10. Assist in data-related project coordination and reporting
11. Provide technical advice and support on data matters
12. Contribute to continuous improvement of data reporting and analytics
Essential Criteria:
13. Experience in data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
14. Proficiency with Excel, Salesforce, SAS, or similar data tools
15. Strong analytical skills with attention to data integrity
16. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
18. Solutions-focused with an innovative approach to data challenges
Desirable:
19. Qualifications in data analytics, business intelligence, statistics, or related fields
20. Experience with government data governance and reporting frameworks
