Full-Time French Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire (SO17)
GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire (SO17). This full-time role is set to begin in September 2025, with the potential for a permanent or fixed-term contract following a successful probation period. The annual salary ranges from £30,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators who are enthusiastic about inspiring students through the French language and culture.
Responsibilities of a French Teacher:
* Deliver engaging and effective French lessons to secondary school students.
* Plan and implement creative lesson plans that foster language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect.
* Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking school culture.
* Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote French language and culture.
* Stay current with curriculum developments and best practices in language teaching.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong passion for teaching French and promoting cultural understanding.
* Experience teaching French at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
* Ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to student well-being and academic success.
* A collaborative and proactive approach to working with staff and students.
* An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
