A popular primary school in Slough is looking to appoint an experienced Reception Teacher to lead early years practice from January 2026. The Reception Teacher will design play-rich provision that develops communication, early literacy and mathematical curiosity, use high-quality observation to plan next steps and lead effective transition into Year 1. The Reception Teacher will work closely with families to support routines and early development, lead continuous provision, mentor support staff in delivering focused group sessions and contribute to whole-school early-years improvement. The Reception Teacher will be part of a reflective team committed to inclusive practice and strong outcomes across Slough.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver a play-rich EYFS curriculum that promotes language, independence and early number.
* Use observation and assessment to set precise next steps and run targeted small-group sessions.
* Lead transition into Year 1 and maintain strong communication with parents and carers across Slough.
* Support and develop TAs, maintain learning journals and ensure the environment promotes curiosity and learning.
* Contribute to whole-school EYFS priorities and staff development.
Person specification
* Qualified teacher with solid Reception/EYFS experience and confident assessment practice.
* Creative, organised and skilled at building partnerships with families and colleagues in Slough.
* Enthusiastic about early years pedagogy and available to start January 2026.
