Occupational Therapist – Neurorehabilitation (Adults) | Long‑Term Locum
Location: Nottinghamshire
Hours: Full‑time or Part‑time | Start: ASAP | Ongoing assignment
Rate: £35–£45 per hour (DOE) | Weekly pay | PAYE or umbrella
MedicsPro is seeking a committed Occupational Therapist for a long‑term locum role within a well‑resourced neurological rehabilitation service. You’ll join a supportive MDT to deliver person‑centred, evidence‑based rehab for adults following acquired/traumatic brain injury, stroke and other neurological conditions.
What you’ll do
• Complete holistic OT assessments (functional, cognitive and perceptual) and set clear, measurable goals.
• Deliver ADL/IADL retraining, upper‑limb rehabilitation, cognitive strategy work and environmental adaptations/equipment prescription.
• Lead graded community re‑engagement (kitchen tasks, shopping, public transport, leisure roles) to generalise gains beyond the therapy room.
• Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, nursing and rehab assistants in true MDT formulation and review.
• Contribute to discharge planning, family/carer education, outcome measurement and service improvement.
What you’ll bring
• HCPC‑registered OT with neurorehab experience (ABI/TBI, stroke and/or progressive neurological conditions).
• Confident across functional and cognitive rehab, goal setting, documentation and report writing.
• A collaborative, outcome‑focused approach and excellent communication skills.
