Security Monitoring Operator (064dm) – Doncaster - £28,000

Job Role:
To monitor, assess, and respond to security incidents using a range of alarm and surveillance systems within a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre.
The role requires delivering a professional, efficient, and compliant service by following established procedures while demonstrating sound judgement and initiative when required.
Key Responsibilities
•Operate and monitor all systems within the Alarm Receiving Centre in accordance with company procedures, legislation, Government guidance, and industry standards.
•Respond promptly and appropriately to incoming fire and intruder alarm signals.
•Coordinate emergency responses by liaising with Police, emergency services, external agencies, and internal stakeholders.
•Accurately record all incidents, actions taken, and communications in clear and detailed incident logs.
•Provide a professional and courteous telephone service, handling enquiries efficiently and effectively.
•Identify and report equipment faults to ensure continuity of system operations.
•Complete required daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational checks.
•Ensure effective and structured shift handovers between operators.
•Maintain compliance with ARC standards including BS5979, BS8418, and ISO 9001.
•Ensure information security compliance in line with the Data Protection Act and company policy.
•Carry out additional duties as reasonably required to support operational needs.
Applicant Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
•Previous experience in customer service, call centre, or administrative roles.
•Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
•SC level Government security clearance (or willingness to obtain upon appointment).

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, determine root cause, and apply appropriate escalation procedures.
•Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
•Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work a rotating 24/7 shift pattern.
Working Hours
•This is a 24/7 operational role.
•12-hour shifts
•4 days on / 4 days off rotation
•Covering 00:00–24:00, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
