We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner who has a background in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with a proven track record in automotive electric driveline systems.
The PACCAR Powertrain eDS team is looking for a dynamic, experienced Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner to join our team.
The e-Drive Systems Team leads and supports multiple electrification programmes, specifying and supplying e-drive solutions to PACCAR's global vehicles in conjunction with our vehicle platform teams. We have team members across the globe, specializing in e-motors and power electronics associated with electric drive systems.
Our team continues to grow with the skills and experience needed for electrification projects across all our brands.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner include, depending on project needs:
* Work from our Leyland facility in the UK; act as the ‘over-arching systems owner’ for current and new electrified drives at systems level
* Work at the base site for 37 hours per week
* Support global stakeholders by working flexibly within the PACCAR Powertrain group
* Lead and guide other PACCAR Powertrain eDS team members on all projects at the system level as directed by the Supervisor
* Define, develop, and validate electric powertrain drivelines at the systems level within the commercial vehicle sector
* Follow recognized industry standards using V-cycle validation methods and continuous improvement approaches such as Six Sigma, Agile, 5 Why, Kaizen
* Gather and define technical requirements, specifications, RFIs, RFQs, and select suppliers for electric driveline products
* Create relevant PACCAR documentation to support integration activities within eDrive systems, enabling successful functions within diagnostics, Functional Safety, and Cyber Security
* Lead and own FRS/FDS level discussions and reviews within IBM DNG and broader collaboration activities
* Resolve issues, negotiate, and develop strong inter-company and supplier relationships
* Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to bring products into mass production across PACCAR divisions
* Provide troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
* Maintain professional competency with emerging technologies
* Drive high quality and efficiency in all tasks
* Conduct risk reviews, document, and present analyses within the company
* Be available to travel nationally and internationally (~20%) to support projects
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner, you will have:
* A degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering
* Technical expertise in Engineering or Computer Science
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IET/IMECHe)
* Proven experience in automotive electric driveline systems
* Strong knowledge of electric machines and power electronics
* Understanding of vehicle functional safety standards (ISO26262)
* Knowledge of Cyber Security
* Experience in the automotive OEM industry
* Excellent cross-company communication skills
* Familiarity with requirements management tools (IBM DNG/RTC, Polarion)
* Experience with calibration and diagnostic tools at OEM level (Vector CANape/CANalyser preferred)
