The Role: You will be working in our vital third-level application development and support team who are involved in Application Integration, Customer Relationship Management, Low Code, Data Science/AI, Data Analytics, Geographic Information Mapping and other key information development projects; occupying a vital role designing, building and implementing new technologies for Hampshire County Council to realise efficiencies and to supply high-quality services to citizens of Hampshire through delivery of our IT services. The role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Council’s Open Workplace Policy the successful candidate can undertake their work with a hybrid approach between home and office, depending upon operational requirements, with the majority of work able to be performed at home if desired. What you’ll do: The focus of the role is design, development, growth, and technical support of services supported by the Boomi Integration platform. In addition to developing on the Boomi Integration platform you will create knowledge-sharing documentation, present concepts and designs at senior IT management forums to describe and seek agreement of new designs and implementation of new technologies, and sometimes occupy a sole technical-lead consultant role to Project Management colleagues to assist in ensuring accurate and timely completion of all project artefacts; consulting on functional and non-functional requirements, creating Application Knowledgebase entries, technical Wiki’s and advising on technical details to support completion of service triage documentation. As a key member of the team your input into resource and recruitment processes will be valued, and you will contribute to some HR process and sometimes non-technical tasks to support overall team effectiveness. The key focus of the role is to support the continuous development of services provided by the Boomi iPaaS and its associated technologies. This will include creation and development of new processes, sometimes deep technical troubleshooting to investigate and resolve complex issues, as well as analysis and design of process enhancements and support of improvement and maintenance initiatives. It is expected that you will often work closely with wider IT departments, benefit from collective technical expertise, draw upon industry knowledge, and that you will identify and interpret information from reliable third-party sources where necessary. What we’re looking for: You are a highly experienced Integration Developer, having successfully completed numerous projects using an iPaaS solution such as Boomi, MuleSoft or Workato. You have integrated multiple applications and technologies, and brought new services live to fruition. You are experienced and effective working in a cross-team development and third-level support environment; building, maintaining and growing technical and business relationships with IT teams and wider business departments. You have an excellent understanding of iPaaS technology within an enterprise level development context; in maintenance and support of its underlying infrastructure, and application of technical standards which support service bus architecture. You are a self-starter who takes the initiative, with excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills, and with confidence to identify, analyse and solve problems in a logical, lateral and ultimately effective way. You are comfortable interpreting high-level business requirements and driving high-quality solutions from them, discussing directly with multiple stakeholders, and understanding business context and the value of all involved parties. You absorb information quickly and seek deeper understanding of new and existing technologies. You relish opportunities to complement your existing skills, and you are determined and adaptable, with excellent interpersonal oral and written skills.
