IT Account Manager / Business Development Manager – B2B Technology Sales
Location: Stockport (Office Based – No Remote or Hybrid)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 + Uncapped Commission up to 15% of Margin
OTE: £60,000 + achievable
We are looking for an experienced B2B Account Manager or Business Development Manager with a background in IT infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise software sales to join our growing commercial team.
This role combines account management, consultative selling and new business development, working with organisations looking to improve their IT infrastructure, cloud capability, cybersecurity and AI adoption.
About the Role
As a B2B Account Manager, you will play a key role in expanding and managing a portfolio of business clients.
Your focus will be on developing long-term relationships with decision-makers, identifying new opportunities within accounts, and supporting organisations in adopting technology solutions that improve their efficiency, security, and digital transformation.
You will also support business growth by engaging with new prospects, developing opportunities, and converting them into long-term client relationships.
This is a consultative, relationship-led role, suited to someone who enjoys understanding client challenges and delivering solutions that create real value.
What You’ll Be Selling
You will be working with businesses across multiple sectors, supporting them with enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and AI-driven technology solutions, including:
* VMware Cloud Foundation technologies (vSphere, vSAN, Horizon, NSX)
* Cloud infrastructure and virtualisation solutions
* IT software, hardware and consultancy services
Typical customers include SMEs, mid-sized organisations and enterprise environments looking to modernise their infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
Deal sizes typically range from £1,000 to £150,000+, creating strong opportunities for commission through both new business and account expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective B2B clients
* Identify opportunities within accounts to introduce additional services and solutions
* Engage with key decision-makers to understand business challenges and technology needs
* Present tailored solutions across IT infrastructure, cloud services, AI tools and software platforms
* Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through to contract agreement
* Prepare proposals, pricing structures and service agreements
* Maintain and develop a strong sales pipeline
* Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets
* Stay informed on developments in cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure (full training provided)
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in B2B sales or account management within the technology sector
* Knowledge of IT infrastructure, SaaS, cloud platforms or enterprise software
* Experience working with VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, Horizon, NSX) is highly desirable
* Strong relationship management and consultative selling skills
* Ability to build credibility with senior decision-makers
* Self-motivated with strong commercial awareness
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to manage a pipeline and prioritise opportunities effectively
