Building Services Engineer
Location - Southampton
Length - 4-month temporary position
Rate - £25 -30 via Umbrella/CIS - per hour based on a 37-hour week - weekly pay
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanically Biased Building Services to support our clients' Estates team.
As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of mechanical systems across a wide range of the estate buildings.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical & water systems, including HVAC, pumps, boilers, and plumbing.
* Diagnose faults and perform repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
* Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives through effective maintenance practices.
* Liaise with contractors and other trades to ensure high standards of service delivery.
* Maintain accurate records of work.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
About You
* Great understanding of Water systems, AC & BMS
* Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial, educational or FM environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical & water systems, including HVAC, heating, and plumbing.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Awareness of health and safety legislation and best practices.
