Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams in delivering innovative and reliable systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in systems engineering, mechanical and electrical design, and software development, with a strong focus on project management and technical leadership. This role involves overseeing complex projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. A comprehensive understanding of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks is essential, alongside proficiency in programming languages including Python, C, C++, and MATLAB. The Senior Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams specialising in systems engineering, mechanical design, electrical engineering, and software development.
* Oversee the development of system designs using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to produce detailed schematics and technical drawings.
* Manage the creation and review of schematics, system architecture diagrams, and fabrication plans ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GD&T.
* Direct the design and implementation of control systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), microcontrollers, and embedded software using Python, C, C++, MATLAB, and other programming languages.
* Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or inefficiencies to identify solutions that improve reliability and performance.
* Collaborate with product development teams to integrate new technologies into existing systems while maintaining system integrity through rigorous debugging and testing procedures.
* Ensure all projects meet safety standards, quality requirements, and client specifications through meticulous planning and oversight of fabrication processes.
* Promote innovation by staying abreast of advancements in electrical engineering, mechanical design, CAD technologies, and systems integration.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
Experience
* Proven track record of at least 8 years in senior engineering roles within construction or manufacturing environments.
* Extensive experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for system design and schematic creation.
* Strong background in electrical engineering principles such as circuit design, system integration using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics development, and maintenance procedures.
* Proficiency in programming languages including Python for automation tasks; C/C++ for embedded system development; MATLAB for data analysis; experience with CAD-based product development is desirable.
* Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering principles encompassing system design optimisation, root cause analysis, debugging techniques, GD&T standards utilisation, fabrication processes optimisation, and maintenance strategies.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
