Location & Position Details
Newcastle Hospital – Nursing – Bank – Part time
As a Theatre Practitioner / ODP in Anaesthetic at our hospital, you’ll be alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player across departments with a passion for exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
* Work with leading consultants and like-minded professionals
* Enjoy a varied caseload with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities
* Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
* Create high-quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
* Ensure the safe administration of anaesthetics and monitor vital signs throughout surgical procedures
* Participate in maintaining a sterile operating environment and adhering to all safety protocols
* Collaborate closely with anaesthetists and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and interact closely with colleagues on the ward

We have 27 en-suite private bedrooms, 3 state-of-the-art operating theatres, a dedicated breast care unit. We offer on-site pathology services and diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI, to help patients after surgery we have on-site physiotherapy specialists. We have a special focus in the areas of orthopaedics, spinal surgery, ophthalmology, weight loss surgery and cosmetic treatment.
