Summary
You will provide Equipment Engineering support to the Epitaxy Shift Equipment Engineers and Technicians at the Caswell site. This will include (but not limited to) Continuous Improvement projects, day to day production support, assisting with fault finding / repair of production equipment and associated systems, working with Process Gas systems and the use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment improvements and upgrades and assistance with installations
2. Working on MOVPE and associated equipment to minimize downtime during production. This will include include phosphorous-trap and gas cylinder changes using self-contained breathing apparatus SCBA (training will be provided, must be clean shaven).
3. Forklift truck driving (training will be provided).
4. Oversee chemical, gases and spare parts control, chemical fills and waste management.
5. Provide technical direction and instruction to Shift Technicians regarding procedures, safety and best practice.
6. Assist with logistic projects, equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, shipping, etc.
7. Assist with shutdown activities (some weekend overtime may be required).
8. Liaising with equipment and spares suppliers and specialist service providers (including the supervision of external contractors and field service engineers).
9. Developing and delivering preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment utilisation and up-time.
10. Adhere to all site safety and environmental procedures.
11. Support of site emergency response function.

Qualifications
15. An HNC or Degree in an electrical/mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent time-served apprenticeship.
16. 5 years of experience within a Wafer Fab or Epitaxy Engineering environment.
17. Electrical qualifications such as BS7671 18th edition would be an advantage.
Skills
18. Electrical engineering experience to include low and high voltage working.
19. Comprehensive Semiconductor Engineering experience (Minimum 5 years).
20. Firm understanding of pneumatic systems and the operation & use of PLCs.
21. Working knowledge of vacuum systems including Hi-Vac principles, pumps and leak-checking.
22. Ability to read and understand equipment wiring and mechanical schematics.
23. Familiar and comfortable with the use of hazardous chemicals and gases.
24. Competent Microsoft office user.
25. Previous experience with Aixtron MOVPE reactors or any other CVD equipment.
26. Semiconductor Process Gas experience to include Mass Flow Controllers.
27. Previous experience with Dry Abatement systems.
Other Requirements
28. Day Shift 08:00 - 16:00
29. Working within a cleanroom environment with the prerequisite use of cleanroom clothing.
30. Contactable for advice or call out should the occasion arise.
31. Requirement to wear (SCBA) self-contained breathing apparatus. This will require candidate to be clean shaven.
32. Excellent standard of written and spoken English is essential.
33. Eligible to work in the UK.
