How You'll Make a Difference
As the Reablement Team Manager, you will ensure customers receive the best possible service and support from us at a time when it is most needed. You will guide your team so the service is responsive, person centred, strength based and encouraging independence. Your work supports people to live in the pace they call home, doing the things that matter to them the most.
What You Will Be Doing
* Your role has a strong focus on prevention, enabling participation in meaningful occupation and removing barriers to participation. You will be guiding practitioners to apply flexibility and creativity to working with adult residents.
* It will be your responsibility to manage, supervise and motivate a team of 20 staff who specialise in reablement. You will identify and address their training needs to foster a highly competent, creative and participative culture.
* With a positive approach to risk management within legislative parameters, you will empower team members to enable individuals to pursue their aspirations while maximising occupational performance and personal autonomy, balancing outcome achievement with safety and legislative responsibilities.
* Providing day-to-day coordination, you will facilitate communication between organisations and teams, as well as overseeing training and development efforts. A critical aspect of the role involves supporting trusted or delegated assessment processes within provider organisations, ensuring robust oversight and quality assurance of assessments through validation and audits.
* You will ensure the effective, value-for-money, and responsive delivery of reablement services, adhering to council standards and relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Health and Social Care Act 2008 (CQC), Equality Act 2010, Mental Capacity Act (including DOLS), Human Rights Act 1998, and the Safeguarding legal framework.
* Leading specialist areas of work or service development, you will undertake complex casework as appropriate and coordinate service planning, including financial and strategic integration with broader council plans.
What We Need From You
* It is essential that you have a recognised and relevant professional qualification e.g. Dips, CQSW, CSS, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
* We will require you to either have a relevant professional accreditation e.g. HCPC or SWE or the equivalent demonstrable knowledge, skills and proven experience in the area.
* You must have a significant amount of knowledge in adult social care and reablement gained by education in a relevant subject or a comparable level of knowledge gained through experience.
* Given the elements of the role, you need to have thorough knowledge of relevant national and regional policy and legislation to the public sector and adult social care, and excellence or best practice approaches being used or developed to deliver reablement.
* It is essential that you have a relevant management qualification alongside leadership experience, with the ability to manage, develop and coordinate a service area.
What You Need To Know
* This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
* Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
* You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.
* Business insurance will need to be added to your insurance policy.
* You can claim back mileage expenses.
