We are seeking an experienced and competent PWT / Site Person in Charge (SPC) to support and oversee protection arrangements within our Fencing Team across multiple rail sites throughout London. This is a safety-critical role responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work during fencing operations carried out in live rail environments, including traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot works.
In addition to protection duties, the role requires hands-on capability in vegetation clearance and chainsaw operations to support fencing installation activities.

Key Responsibilities
Manage protection arrangements for fencing works during traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot operations.
Act as Site Person in Charge (SPC) when appointed.
Ensure fencing works are delivered safely within protection limits.
Deliver daily briefings and ensure operatives follow safe systems of work.
Coordinate fencing activities, including plant, materials, and team deployment.
Carry out vegetation clearance and chainsaw operations to support fencing installation.
Ensure safe use and upkeep of tools and equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with rail standards.
Liaise with control, engineering supervisors, and client representatives.
Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions arise.

Sentinel (valid sponsorship required)

Basic Track Awareness
Hedge Trimmer (including long-arm hedge trimmer)
Brushcutter / Strimmer
Chainsaw Pole Pruner
NPTC – Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting
NPTC – Felling Small Trees up to 380mm
Safe Use of Power Tools
Proven experience working within live rail environments
Strong understanding of rail safety standards and fencing-related risks
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Full UK driving licence
