We are recruiting for a fulltime, Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join our exciting and diverse nursing team with in HMP Grampian. Part time hours will be considered.
HMP Grampian is a high security prison for adult males and females. HMP Grampian is the only such facility in the northeast of the country
HMP Grampian can offer an exciting career development opportunity in the challenging environment of NHS prison health care.
We are in midst of building a robust Prison Nursing Team where there will be opportunities to develop skills in primary care, substance use, mental health and pharmacy care within the ever-changing prison environment.
This role will entail supporting clinical staff to deliver, routine clinics/care within the Health Centre and at times in the Residential Prison Halls, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service. You will need to have experience of working within a caring environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills and an interest in developing health and care knowledge in relation to prison nursing is essential.
The prison environment is extremely busy and both emotionally and physically demanding this post required someone who is able to cope with these demands.
The post is shift based working 12 hours 0600-1830 shifts Monday to Sunday. There is no night shift.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
