Salary: $107,058.00 - $123,9240 .00 12% Superannuation Here’s what you’ll be up to… As the Senior Internal Auditor, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening Council’s governance, risk management and internal control environment. In this role, you will: Undertake internal audits and reviews in line with Council’s adopted audit plan Provide independent, objective assurance to management and the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee (ARIC) on the effectiveness of financial and operational controls Apply risk-based audit methodologies and testing techniques Prepare high-quality audit reports, findings and recommendations Monitor and report on the completion status of audit recommendations Support quarterly ARIC reporting and meetings Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Council and external partners This is a permanent role within the Legal Services Department, offering exposure to diverse operational areas and the opportunity to influence best practice across the organisation. We’re seeking a professional who: Has strong experience in internal audit or a similar assurance-based role Enjoys applying analytical, investigative and problem solving skills Is confident working independently while building strong stakeholder relationships Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of audiences Is motivated by making a tangible impact through good governance and risk management Experience in local government, data analytics or ICT systems auditing, along with CPA, CA, CIA or ACCA qualifications, will be highly regarded. The must-know bits You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.
