Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic site-based Information Controller to join a busy project team supporting activities within VolkerStevin across multiple projects. The role will support projects using the Common Data Environment (CDE) Asite and those new projects implementing the CDE. The candidate will provide efficient day-to-day information control for project data. The role is predominantly based in Preston with travel to project sites across the north-west initially. The Information Controller role is evolving as we adopt a more digital approach to project delivery. This is a fast-paced business leading the way in digital innovation for Multi-Dimensional Construction. The successful candidate should be technically minded and ready to provide document control support for busy project environments. Working under the guidance of the Project Information Manager, the role includes opportunities for personal and professional development to enable progression within our business. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are prerequisites due to periodic site visits.
Responsibilities
* Platform administrative support to the project team
* Monitor CDE workflows to ensure the system operates smoothly and that data is approved on time
* Control incoming and outgoing data exchange
* Photocopying, filing, and scanning of data for storage on the CDE (Common Data Environment)
* Maintain document registers where used
* Share Information Management/CDE guidance for internal teams and as part of the supply chain pack
* Conduct document control QA checks on naming conventions, system use, and adherence to Information Management protocol
* Ensure documents are checked and submitted on time prior to submission due dates
* Ensure documents are stored in the correct location and department file archive
* Maintain and accurately update information in the electronic document management system (Asite)
* Assist and guide the project team in using the electronic data management system and document management processes
* Maintain CDE security to ensure only authorized parties have access to content
* Handover compiling support for practical completion
* Ensure documentation, drawings, and specifications are up to date and at the correct revision
* Apply document management processes across project teams and transitions to operations
* Act as point of contact for platform support for internal and external staff (suppliers)
* Act as CDE superuser and provide one-to-one support as needed
* Attend Information Management/CDE progress meetings
* Monitor multiple platforms to minimize data duplication and ensure the correct system is used
Qualifications
* Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail and Internet
* CDE knowledge, specifically Asite, would be advantageous
* Working knowledge of SharePoint content management would be an advantage
* Awareness of information control standards including ISO 19650 and PAS1192
* Proven work experience as a Document Controller or similar role essential
* Familiarity with quality processes and standards including ISO 19650 and ISO 9001
* Experience delivering project information across multiple CDE/EDMS platforms
