Wing Design Engineer
Location: Filton, Bristol (minimum 60% onsite requirement)
Contract Duration: Until October 2026
Pay Rate:
* £50.00 per hour (Umbrella)
* £37.38 per hour (PAYE)
* Up to £52.00 per hour (Umbrella) for Authoriser level
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am–7pm, as agreed with the business)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
About the Role
Carbon60 are seeking two experienced Wing Design Engineers to join our client's leading aerospace programme. You will play a key role in ensuring the structural design of aircraft wings meets airworthiness and product requirements, delivering technical solutions, and leading design improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure structural design compliance with airworthiness and product requirements.
* Deliver technical studies, trade-offs, and investigations using established design methods.
* Manage and deliver change through modification processes, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
* Provide design leadership to internal and external teams, driving Lean Engineering improvements.
* Organise and govern design and maturity reviews in line with industry policies and best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Delegation signatory for wing structure design (Design Approval/Authorisation required).
* Proven experience in wing structure design within the aerospace sector.
* Strong track record of delivering to time, cost, and quality targets.
* Proficiency with design toolsets such as CATIA V5, ICC, Zamiz, ECM, Solings, and PASS.
* Experience working within a complex stakeholder network, influencing technical and business outcomes.
