Job summary
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Therapy Administration Team. Working as part of an integrated support team, you will be based in the reception area of our Physiotherapy Department welcoming patients and visitors to the department and providing administrative support for their appointments. You will be based at Westmorland General Hospital but may occasionally travel to other sites when needed.
Main duties
You will join our team of experienced administrative and clerical staff. You will utilise your communication skills, working with patients, relatives and staff and will have a positive approach to service improvement. Responsibilities will include booking appointments, supporting out-patient clinics, maintaining departmental records using clinical electronic record system and general office duties.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Education & Qualifications
* Essential: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent to include English Language and Maths. Keyboard skills, computer literate
Desirable: NVQ 2 equivalent in Customer Care
Experience
* Essential: Relevant experience within an administration and clerical field
Desirable: Previous experience of Lorenzo or equivalent PAS. Dealing with patients/relatives. Experience of Customer Care

* Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft word processing skills. Possess excellent communication skills written/verbal/listening. Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
