Job Description
As an Individual Needs Assistant, your main responsibility will be to support students with special educational needs within a classroom setting. This includes providing one-on-one assistance, helping with personal care needs, and implementing individual education plans. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to foster a supportive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications
* A genuine passion for working with individuals with special educational needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Basic understanding of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs
Education
A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths is required. Additional qualifications in special educational needs or relevant fields are desirable.
Experience
Prior experience working with individuals with special educational needs is essential.
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse needs
* Ability to adapt to changing situations and demonstrate flexibility
* Strong organisational skills and task prioritisation
Preferred Qualifications
* Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
* First Aid certification
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a classroom environment within a school. It may require physical activity and providing personal care to students. Hours are scheduled during school term times.

Pay rates are inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential to become permanent later.
