The Role As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex engineering projects within our Programme Management Directorate. Reporting to a Programme Manager, you will manage specific projects and provide essential support to ensure successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a new nuclear power station, working on projects with strong engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory focus. Key Responsibilities Deliver projects on time and within budget. Maintain accurate project plans and financial forecasts. Monitor performance and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager. Manage project risks and implement mitigations. Foster a positive and productive team environment. Support stakeholder meetings and external engagements. Ensure compliance with project management processes and procedures. Identify and implement process improvements. What We’re Looking For Experience: Proven project management experience, ideally in complex engineering projects. Knowledge: Familiarity with project management methodologies, risk management, budgeting, and change management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, ARM, SAP, Excel, Power BI (training available if needed). Qualifications: Engineering degree or equivalent experience. Project Management certification (APM PMQ or equivalent). Membership of a professional body is advantageous. Behaviours: Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to influence, problem-solve, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
