Ringway Jacobs is offering an outstanding opportunity for a talented Senior Design Engineer to play a key role in shaping infrastructure across Cheshire East, as part of our forward-thinking Design Services Team based in Crewe, Cheshire.
With a strong pipeline of exciting projects, ranging in value up to £5 million, you’ll be involved in diverse programmes including cycleway enhancements, junction upgrades, and public realm improvements.

The Role
1. Analyse engineering problems, apply technical expertise and engineering judgement, and produce innovative solutions using complex interactive computer systems to meet legal and management objectives.
2. Deliver professional and technical excellence in highway engineering, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation.
3. Identify, prepare, design, plan, programme, and order work and services.
4. Manage and monitor works programmes or services.
5. Provide timely and accurate advice to Councillors, Parish Councils, and the public on all highway-related matters as required.
About You
6. Proven experience in 3D modelling, ideally within the highways or infrastructure sector.
7. Ability to interpret and apply industry standards and technical specifications to design and modelling work.
8. Experience of working with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
9. Uphold a high standard of professionalism, representing the organisation effectively in all interactions.
10. Knowledge of current UK highways standards (e.g., DMRB, Manual for Streets).
11. Experience presenting issues to both technical and non-technical audiences is desirable.
12. Knowledge and application of design procedures, guidance, standards, and good practice documents is essential.
13. Knowledge of and application of Health and Safety/Highways legislation is essential.
14. Experience implementing traffic regulation orders is essential.
