Watford Mencap is a charity providing high quality social care services and support to people with learning disabilities, and their families, in South West Hertfordshire.
We are currently looking for Support Workers:
3 x Full Time based in Chorleywood
3 x Female workers based in Bushey
1 x Full Time based in Watford
You will ideally be located a short commuting distance from our locations working in our residential care homes, supported living projects, and in our community activities teams. You will be supporting adults and children in one of our sites enabling people with learning disabilities to make the most of life, to enjoy choice and control over their own lives.

As a Support Worker, you will:
* plan and deliver support in a personalised way
* deal with challenges and be solution focused
* support individuals to increase their skills and independence
* activities include supporting individuals at meal times, to attend appointments, to go shopping, or to accompany on visits to new places
Your skills:
* Good communicator
* Team Player
* Work independently
* Warm and friendly with good interpersonal skills
* no experience necessary but driven to provide quality support
* good IT skills in order to update care records.
You will keep people safe by working within the regulations supporting to the highest standards and ensuring people we support have choice over their lives.

You will work flexibly - able to meet the needs of people through a flexible rota. This will involve working days, evenings & weekends as well as sleeping in and waking nights for some of our projects.
Salary: £ £12.74 per hour
