Community Nursing Services Opportunity for District Nurse Clinical Lead (Band 7)

Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and line management for a Community Nursing team, working collaboratively with operational leads.
* Assess complex patients in their homes, plan and evaluate care, and deliver the Enhanced Health‑in‑Care Homes Framework in line with local objectives.
* Lead continuous quality improvement, support clinical governance, and manage caseload processes within your team.
* Help patients and carers achieve optimal independence using best practice and national and Trust guidelines.
* Operate a 7‑day, consistently high‑quality, safe and sustainable service from 08:00 to 18:00.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered and qualified RGN/RN (Adults) on the NMC Register.
* Community Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) as a District Nurse.
* Non‑Medical Prescriber V300 (or commitment to undertake).
* Teaching and assessing qualification aligned to NMC requirements.
* Advanced Physical Assessment Module – or commitment to undertake within 12 months.
* Leadership/Management Training – or commitment to undertake.
* IOSH – or commitment to undertake.
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of further study at Masters level.
* Training to interpret microbiology and pathology results.
Essential Experience
* Extensive SPQ community nursing experience.
* Teaching in a clinical setting.
* Experience of multidisciplinary working.
* Evidence of up‑to‑date knowledge and skills.
* Significant experience of team leadership and organisational skills at a senior level.
* Experience of caseload management.
Desirable Experience
* Managing change and developing teams.
* Long‑term condition management.
* Motivational Interviewing.
Essential Skills
* Independent prescribing, medication review and administration.
* Reflective practice and proactive clinical supervision.
Desirable Skills
* Sound understanding of community developments and priorities locally and nationally.
* Staff appraisal skills.
* Ability to facilitate innovative practice.
Other Requirements
* Ability to travel easily in mixed geographical areas ensuring timely delivery of patient care.
* Must be able to safely carry essential equipment and provide transport to others involved in community nursing (students, colleagues).
* Car owner/driver.
* Requirement to be rostered onto weekends, bank holidays and evenings to cover 7‑day service needs.
Employment Details
* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum, pro rata.
* Contract: Permanent, Full‑time.
* Working pattern: Full‑time, 37.5 hrs/week.
