The Role:
As a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a range of mechanical engineering programmes. You will support students through both theoretical and practical learning, helping them progress into apprenticeships, higher education, or skilled employment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and delivering engaging lessons in mechanical engineering
2. Teaching across Level 2-3 programmes (with potential for higher levels)
3. Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback
4. Supporting learners' academic and personal development
5. Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement
Subjects & Areas May Include:
6. Mechanical principles
7. Engineering materials
8. CAD/CAM
9. Maintenance and manufacturing processes
10. Health & safety and workshop practice
Requirements:
11. A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
12. Industry experience and/or teaching experience within FE
13. A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or willingness to work towards one)
14. Strong communication and organisational skills
15. Commitment to safeguarding and learner success
