Are you detail-oriented with a passion for security and compliance? We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Officer to join our exciting technology startup in Manchester. In this role, you will play a key part in using our bespoke software to ensure the safety and integrity of our organisation and clients by conducting thorough background checks and vetting processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

* Proficient in using Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Desired but not Required Skills:
* An awareness and understanding of BS7858 requirements
* Previous experience in vetting, compliance, or security screening.
* An understanding of the security and vetting industry
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform background checks, including employment history, criminal record checks, credit checks, and identity verification.
* Ensure all vetting procedures adhere to the relevant standards.
* Maintain accurate, confidential records of all vetting activities using our bespoke Deploi system.
* Liaise with applicants, previous employers, and relevant agencies to gather necessary information via email, phone, and other communication methods.
* Advise applicants on vetting regulations, guiding them through the vetting process.
* Create and contribute to guidance and support materials for applicants.
* Keep external reporting data accurate and up to date.
* Work towards team and company targets, understanding their impact on company revenue.
* Collaborate with the team to improve processes and contribute to team initiatives.
* Stay informed of changes in vetting standards and regulations.
* Support audit preparations and participate in audits when required.
* Take on additional responsibilities as necessary within the scope of the role.
