Grade: Clinical Trust Fellow at FY2

Contract Length: Contract is Fixed Term from 06-Aug 2025 to 02- Dec 2025.

Job responsibilities

* To provide acute gynaecology and obstetric cover to inpatient and outpatient service
* By arrangement to cover colleagues during periods of annual and study leave.
* Administrative duties specific to the role associated with the care of the patients and the running of the clinical department (including discharge paperwork).
* Participate actively in quality improvement activity/ clinical audit and implement its results.
* The post-holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in emergency and unforeseen circumstances as are essential for continuity of patient care.
* Abiding by the clinical and corporation governance policies of the Trust.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
* Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
* Experience of working in the NHS as a Foundation or locally employed doctor.
* Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working at FY1 level.

Experience

* Delivery of service by participation in SHO rota.
* Awareness of current Governance and Management processes; in particular understanding of safety reporting, investigations, quality improvement methodology and implementation.
* Awareness of morbidity and mortality issues.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care in obstetrics and gynaecology is essential.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
