Due to continued success, we are now seeking an experienced and ambitious Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our front-of-house leadership team. The role Support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy fine-dining restaurant (40–50 covers) and afternoon tea service Lead, train and motivate a team of 10–12 front-of-house staff, ensuring consistently high standards of service Oversee service periods, manage the floor with confidence and ensure every guest leaves happy Assist with rotas, stock control, ordering and compliance (health & safety, licensing, allergens) Play a key role in menu briefings, wine training and delivering memorable guest experiences Deputise fully in the Restaurant Manager’s absence About you At least 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor, Head Waiter/Waitress or Assistant Restaurant Manager in a quality rosette (ideally 3-rosette or Michelin-level) establishment Passionate about food, wine and outstanding hospitality Natural leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a team Immaculate personal presentation and excellent communication skills Calm and professional under pressure, with a hands-on “lead by example” approach WSET Level 2/3 or equivalent is advantageous but not essential What we offer £32,000 per annum Excellent share of tips/service charge (paid monthly) Live-in accommodation available (modern, en-suite staff house a short walk from the hotel – heavily subsidised) 28 days holiday (increasing with service) Staff meals on duty Generous friends & family rates across the hotel group Ongoing training and genuine career progression opportunities A supportive, family-feel working environment in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK If you love delivering exceptional service, thrive in a small and dedicated team, and want to take the next step in your career in one of the Lake District’s finest independent properties, we’d love to hear from you.
