We have an exciting opportunity in Dorset for a Named Financial Advocate to join our values driven organisation. We are recruiting a Named Financial Advocate to support people with a learning disability across Dorset. This rewarding social care finance role involves acting as an appointee, managing benefits, budgeting and bill payments, and providing person centred financial advocacy. The role offers flexible working with annualised hours, is homebased, and includes local travel around Dorset, including Bridport, Dorchester, Bournemouth and/or Poole. In this rewarding advocacy role, you¿ll act as an Appointee and Financial Advocate, helping people with a learning disability to have choice, independence and control over their finances. This is a people focused role where person centred support, dignity and empowerment are at the heart of everything you do. Money is a deeply personal part of everyday life. As a Financial Advocate and Appointee, you¿ll build trusted relationships with the people you support, working closely with families, support teams and social workers. You will use your finance, banking and/or benefits skills to help individuals manage their money safely, make informed financial decisions and achieve outcomes that matter to them. Your responsibilities will include managing benefit claims, budgeting, bill payments, and ensuring finances are handled responsibly and in line with safeguarding and best interest principles. Through your support, people will gain confidence, reassurance and greater independence in their daily lives. This is a homebased role with regular travel across Dorset, including Bridport, Dorchester, Bournemouth and/or Poole and surrounding areas, depending on where you are based. You¿ll also be part of a wider, supportive organisation, working alongside experienced advocates, managers and admin and finance teams who are also working from home across the country, or based in our office in Grantham.
