The opportunity: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, handling IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on rapidly developing IP portfolios of household names with worldwide coverage, requiring a global mindset and the ability to learn different international requirements.
The role involves collaborating with diverse teams worldwide, including technology teams, paralegals, lawyers, and partners. You will provide key support to senior professionals and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Main responsibilities include:
1. Supporting global IP matters such as trade mark formalities, filings, and renewals.
2. Managing IP M&A activities, including documentation and liaising with local counsel.
3. Conducting IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
4. Supporting anti-counterfeiting programs and drafting related documentation.
5. Performing trade mark searches, watching services, and preparing reports.
6. Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and standards.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 or above preferred.
* Legal background with trade mark/IP experience (preferred).
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification (advantageous).
Personal & technical skills include high attention to detail, proactive attitude, independence, ability to manage deadlines, and strong communication skills.
