Job Title: CAD & Production Engineer
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum
Location: North East England
A well-established metal processing business is seeking a CAD & Production Engineer to support the running of their new CNC steel processing line. The company supplies metal products nationwide and continues to invest heavily in automation, technology, and people.
Key Responsibilities
CAD & Technical Processing
* Import, verify, and manage DSTV/NC1 files from industry-standard detailing software
* Optimise nesting and material usage across full-length sections to minimise waste
Production Control & Coordination
* Plan and schedule CNC drilling line operations to maintain continuous production flow
* Manage tooling and consumables to ensure consistent, high-speed performance
* Coordinate with operations and materials teams to ensure correct stock availability at infeed
Skills & Experience Required
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or structural detailing software
* Experience in a production-driven or lean manufacturing environment
* High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
