Job Duties:
* Plan, prepare and deliver engaging music lessons to students
* Develop and implement music curriculum in line with educational standards
* Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide feedback
* Organise and supervise music-related extracurricular activities
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall music education programme
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience:
Previous experience teaching music in a school setting is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong musical abilities and proficiency in playing musical instruments
* Knowledge of music theory, history, and various genres
* Effective classroom management and communication skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical talents
Preferred Qualifications:
* Postgraduate qualification in Music Education or related field
* Experience in organising music events or productions
Working Conditions:
The role of Teacher of Music involves working in a school environment, collaborating with students, colleagues, and parents. Some evening or weekend work may be required for music-related events or performances.
