Job Title: Head of Finance/Finance Manager
Reports to: Finance Director
Location: Delamere Dairy Head Office, Knutsford (Hybrid working)
Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Finance Director and playing a significant role within the operational leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the management accounts and transactional functions.
Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function, leading and developing the team as the business continues to grow. To ensure timely and accurate management accounts, precise monitoring and updating of the cost model, ensuring productivity and other reports are reliable and precise.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of management accounts and cost model ensuring timely and accurate weekly and monthly reporting which is clear and concise. Updating, maintaining and reconciling profit report to management accounts.
Contribute to the running of the business as a member of the operational leadership team
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and statutory audit schedules.
Partner with operational and commercial teams to support and challenge other areas of the business to ensure the business is tight on costs and the correct processes are in place.
Responsible for the statutory external audit in line with legal and accounting standards and requirements, including ownership of the balance sheet and P&L.
Provide insightful financial analysis, including margin and profitability analysis, to support business performance and growth.
Support the senior leadership team with financial insight for projects, investments, and cost-saving initiatives.
Oversee the transactional side of the business monitoring debtors and creditor functions ensuring effective cash flow management and controls.
Help evaluate risks and look to put controls in place to safeguard the business to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Introduce internal audit measures to follow departmental spend from purchase order through from orders placed.
Interpretation and analysis of financial data including margin analysis to help drive profitability.
Lead improvements to financial systems, processes, and reporting to support a growing business.
Preparing quarterly VAT and annual returns.
Supporting the Finance Director and senior team with projects, process improvements and cost saving measures.
Execute the annual budgeting process.
Any ad hoc duties or tasks as requested by the FD or senior team.
Education & Qualifications
Qualified accountant ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent experience.
Business Degree or equivalent.
Experience/Requirements
Experience working at a senior level and leading a finance department in industry/commerce is preferred.
An eye for interpreting data and information to identify key issues and trends is essential, together with intermediate or advanced spreadsheet skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc).
An ability to identify gaps in systems and an ability to streamline processes and systems.
Experience and responsibility of managing business operating systems
Knowledge of the dairy industry is beneficial but not essential
Understanding of costing models an advantage
