Legal Counsel – Employment

The Opportunity
An ambitious and fast-growing consultancy is looking for a Legal Counsel (Employment) to join its Legal & Compliance team. This is a high-impact role offering the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders, influence business decisions, and shape employment practices in a dynamic, evolving environment.
What You’ll Do
* Provide clear, pragmatic advice on a wide range of UK employment law matters, including contracts, terminations, discrimination, and employee relations
* Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, settlement agreements, and restrictive covenants
* Partner closely with HR and leadership on disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace investigations
* Support the development and implementation of employment policies and compliance frameworks
* Manage legal risk and ensure adherence to UK employment legislation, including data protection and equality laws
* Assist with employment disputes and litigation, liaising with external counsel where required
* Deliver training and guidance to stakeholders, keeping the business up to date with legal and regulatory developments
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified lawyer with 5+ years’ experience specialising in UK employment law
* Strong technical expertise combined with a commercial, solution-focused mindset
* Proven experience advising on employee relations and handling complex employment matters
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships across the business
* Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
* Experience in financial services or other regulated sectors is advantageous
* Exposure to international employment law is a plus
