Teaching Assistant – Additional needs Birches First School Teaching Assistant to support child with SEN 1-1 Grade 4 £25,583 prorata FTE Term Time Only 27.5 hours per week Required as soon as possible. We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Y4 child within our school with Cognition and Learning (C & L), Communication and Interaction (C&L) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The candidate would need experience of working with a SEND child. They will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupils’ identified needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has: • Experience of supporting pupils identified with special educational needs or willingness to train • Helped children to learn as effectively as possible • Worked confidently and effectively on their own and as part of a team • Had experience in delivering/scaffolding an adapted programme of work as directed by the class teacher and EHCP • Facilitated the inclusion of a SEN&D child within the whole class setting • Been able to provide evidence of successful targeted intervention work • Provided a purposeful and well-disciplined learning environment which reflects the school ethos • Established positive, supportive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and other agencies where necessary.
