About The business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction, operations, decommissioning, repowering and life extension.
About The Role
The Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Civil and Defence division, is recruiting Senior Civil Engineers to join our fast‑growing team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects – nuclear, defence, energy and infrastructure – in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for all stages of project evolution from feasibility and concept to detailed design work, planning support through to project construction and commissioning.
* Involved in multidisciplinary projects that require liaising with Engineers internally and external Clients/Stakeholders to provide cost‑effective infrastructure solutions.
* Lead and/or undertake design and checking of engineering design works on a wide variety of energy, defence and other infrastructure projects.
* Prepare specifications and minimum functional specifications for the civil engineering aspects of projects in English.
* Lead civil inspections of infrastructure assets across the UK as part of asset maintenance and life extension, producing detailed inspection reports in English for clients.
* Offer a consultative advisory approach to clients to ensure the best solution is offered to meet their needs.
* Undertake site and client office visits as required by project.
* Ensure client satisfaction, pursue and promote opportunities with clients.
* Develop, maintain and monitor programmes for scheduling and costs and report on deliverables across specific projects.
* Assist with project management, control and administration as appropriate to your level of experience.
* Responsible for the development and mentoring of staff.
Requirements
* Chartered Status or equivalent experience with significant progress toward achieving Chartered status.
* Experience in the Energy Sector or similar regulated industries is desirable, but not essential.
* Strong communication skills are essential, collaborating daily with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
* Proven ability to deliver high quality engineering solutions aligned with your expertise and skills.
