The Opportunity
Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and respected engineering business. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, repairing, and testing equipment across customer sites, ensuring a high standard of service and minimal downtime.

Your Role
You will attend customer sites to diagnose, repair, and test equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive job instructions via PDA (written and verbal) for breakdowns
• Diagnose faults and determine repair requirements
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe working practices
• Complete repairs and testing within agreed timeframes
• Record all work accurately on job cards (electronic or written)
• Report additional work requirements and obtain authorisation before proceeding
• Maintain high levels of workmanship and quality standards
• Liaise with supervisors/management regarding complex faults
• Communicate with customers where required regarding equipment issues
• Ensure customer and company property is protected at all times
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and discipline on site
• Ensure all parts are collected from stores as required
• Advise supervisors if completion times cannot be met
• Achieve customer satisfaction targets and service standards
What We’re Looking For
• Experience as a Field Service Engineer (essential)
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, electrics, and fault diagnosis
• Experience working on plant equipment in industrial or construction environments
• Main dealer experience (advantageous)
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Flexible approach to working hours when required
