What you will be doing
as a Waste and Sustainability Coordinator
1. Day to day management of re-use of materials & equipment within the Company via an intranet-based system ‘Greentag’.
2. Ensuring compliance with Waste Duty of Care.
3. Provide advice on waste management matters.
4. Problem solving and innovation.
5. Support the Environmental Compliance Lead as subject matter expert for waste.
6. Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met within the Company.
7. Recording and reporting waste data.
Location: Didcot Regional Distribution Centre, Oxfordshire. Travel is required across our operational sites.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 36 hours a week.
Internally, this role is known as Environmental Waste Resource Technician
What skills are we looking for?
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
8. Knowledge of waste legislation and policy in the UK.
9. Collaborative skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously whilst working to tight deadlines.
12. Hold a valid and clean UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills that you can bring to this role:
13. Experience of undertaking audits (waste duty of care) and site inspections.
14. Delivering training.
15. Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability or other relevant subject.
16. Chartered status with relevant professional body. (e.g. CIWM, SocEnv, CIWEM)
