An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with over 1,000 employees and more than 70 years of industry experience. With plans to double its headcount in the London office over the next two years, this company offers a rare chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business. As part of a smaller, close-knit team, you'll enjoy an entrepreneurial environment where you'll be given significant ownership of projects and the chance to take on leadership responsibilities from the outset.
The company works across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education. With a varied workload, no two days will be the same, and you'll be instrumental in delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical design and delivery on building services projects with a focus on high standards of technical excellence.
* Engage directly with clients, guiding them through the design process to ensure needs are met.
* Manage and deliver projects to completion, with ownership of project outcomes from outset.
* Contribute to a smaller, close-knit team environment and take on leadership responsibilities early in the role.
* Collaborate across sectors (commercial, residential, healthcare, education) and support expansion into mission-critical and life sciences projects.
* Benefit from flexible working arrangement: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven mechanical design engineering experience within building services.
