The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering team as a Technical Services Intern, contributing directly to the digital transformation of field reporting and quality assurance processes.
You’ll be supporting the development of innovative tools—such as the Nexplore daily diary and alternative field reporting applications—that are key to improving efficiency and data connectivity on major infrastructure projects.
As part of a respected technical services team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in software application development, data integration, and Power BI reporting, while working alongside engineers, project teams, and digital specialists.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about construction technology, digital engineering, and continuous improvement, offering exposure to industry-leading practices and mentorship from experienced professionals.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop and test field reporting applications to support QA and site management.
Build and configure data interfaces between reporting systems and departmental databases.
Develop process flowcharts and digital checksheets based on project needs.
Prepare training materials and self-learning resources, including short video demonstrations.
Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for real-time project reporting.
Support rollout, gather feedback, and refine tools to enhance user adoption.
Collaborate with Quality, Projects, and ICT departments, as well as external providers.
Produce weekly and monthly progress reports on implementation milestones
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
A background or interest in construction, civil, or mechanical engineering.
Basic experience with software development or database integration.
Familiarity with Power BI, AutoCAD, or similar digital tools.
An analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and process improvement.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
