Head Housekeeper

Caledonian is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping operation at The Caledonian Island Hotel in the Isle of Wight. This is a key leadership role for someone who takes pride in high standards, enjoys developing teams, and understands the importance of cleanliness in delivering an outstanding guest experience.

As Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and presentation of the hotel, ensuring consistently high standards across guest bedrooms and public areas. You will lead, motivate and support the housekeeping team while working closely with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities include:

* Delivering an excellent guest experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.

* Communicating daily tasks, priorities and standards to the housekeeping team.

* Supervising, coaching and supporting the housekeeping team, including shift scheduling and performance management.

* Communicating effectively with colleagues across all departments to contribute positively to the working environment.

* Ensuring compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.

* Developing and implementing cleaning schedules, procedures and standards.

* Managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.

About you

We're looking for a confident and organised leader with a passion for quality and people development.

You will:

o Have previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory or management role, ideally within a hotel environment.

o Demonstrate excellent organisational and leadership skills.

o Have a positive, can-do attitude and a hands-on approach.

o Be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

o Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with colleagues.

o Be flexible and able to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
