Position Summary
The Manager, Operations is responsible for managing an assigned facility, focusing on profitability, efficiency, mentoring staff, and developing strategies for growth and best practices within the location.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily operations of the location, addressing customer, employee, and facility issues.
2. Hire, train, and evaluate staff; conduct interviews; set professional development goals; mentor technicians; ensure motivation and productivity.
3. Make recommendations regarding promotions, transfers, hiring, and exits.
4. Coordinate work schedules and manage team assignments.
5. Apply industry knowledge to provide technical solutions, prepare quotes, review test reports, and ensure work quality.
6. Maintain customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer service.
7. Review jobs for profitability and work on continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Prepare reports and work with HSE to develop safety practices.
9. Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
10. Ensure compliance with all regulations and safety policies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
2. Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.
3. Understanding of heavy industrial, utility, large commercial, renewable energy sectors, and troubleshooting complex issues.
4. Ability to work safely following electrical safety procedures.
5. Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
7. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
8. Customer-focused approach and accuracy in work.
9. Valid driver’s license if using a company vehicle.
Additional Information
Location: Albany, NY. Salary: $130,000-$160,000 plus 15% bonus. Relocation assistance available. Full benefits. Travel up to 30%. Position requires sitting and using computers/phones for extended periods.
