Job Description
As a Kitchen Assistant, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of quality meals to residents, team and visitors. Your dedication to cleanliness, organisation, and teamwork contributes to a safe and enjoyable dining experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
 * Assist with the preparation of food to deliver high quality restaurant‑level standards.
 * Carry out all cleaning duties in the kitchen area in accordance with the work schedule.
 * Prepare food including vegetables, salads, sandwiches and other snacks.
 * Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen area, equipment and appliances.
 * Receive, check and safely store kitchen deliveries.
 * Apply safe food handling principles to ensure all food preparations meet the highest hygiene standards.
 * Use appropriate cleaning materials to keep surfaces and equipment well presented.
 * Communicate effectively with residents, families, other team members and professionals.
 * Notify the Chef of any service shortfalls and suggest improvements.
 * Undertake simple cooking duties as directed by the Chef.
 * Keep legible, accurate and detailed records in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
 * Report on the supply and quality of items, ensuring timely ordering of replacement goods.
 * Adhere to standard operating procedures, proper use of machinery and all Health and Safety regulations.
 * Complete mandatory training specified during induction and thereafter to remain competent in your role.
 * Attend team meetings and training sessions as required for optimal performance.
