Role: Senior/Assistant Manager – Personal Tax

The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior or Assistant Manager to join our growing Personal Tax team in Manchester. In this client-facing role, you'll lead the delivery of personal tax compliance and advisory services for a varied portfolio of clients, helping them navigate complex tax matters while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to our exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the delivery of day-to-day personal tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of individuals, including high-net-worth clients, business owners, and directors.
* Reviewing personal tax returns to ensure technical accuracy and timely submission in line with HMRC deadlines.
* Providing clear, practical tax advice on issues such as residence and domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and remuneration planning.
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members to develop their technical knowledge and ensure high-quality client deliverables.
* Liaising with HMRC on client matters, managing enquiries and correspondence effectively.
* Identifying opportunities for tax planning and working closely with senior colleagues to deliver solutions.
* Accurately recording chargeable time and ensuring optimal recovery of billable hours.
* Planning and managing your workload to meet client expectations and internal review schedules.
Key Requirements:
* ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualified (or working towards CTA).
* Strong technical knowledge of personal tax legislation and compliance processes.
* Proven experience in managing client relationships and providing advisory services.
* A collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax software.
* High standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
