Office base: Wigan, WN3 5BA - hybrid working available following an initial training period (2‑3 days per week in the office)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
The Role
As a Paralegal within our Clinical Negligence team, you will support solicitors in handling a varied caseload of complex and sensitive matters.

You will play a key role in supporting case progression and ensuring excellent client care throughout the lifecycle of each matter.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting solicitors with the day‑to‑day management of clinical negligence files
* Communicating with clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence
* Preparing funding documentation
* Requesting, reviewing, and managing medical records
* Preparing instructions to experts and counsel
* Drafting legal documents, including letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of loss, and court documents
* Preparing electronic bundles for conferences, hearings, and trials
* Arranging and attending conferences and meetings where appropriate
* Recording time accurately and supporting fee earners in meeting deadlines and targets
* Maintaining accurate records via the case management system and diary management
* Ensuring compliance with GDPR and firm policies
* Supporting wider team activities, including administrative tasks and collaboration with colleagues
About You

Essential
* A Law degree (minimum 2:1)
* GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills
* Good IT skills and ability to use case management systems
* A proactive and professional approach to work
Desirable
* Previous legal work experience (clinical negligence or personal injury preferred, with a good understanding of the litigation process)
* Experience preparing legal documents or bundles
