The Cancer Tracker /MDM Coordinator will work with a range of clinical and non-clinical staff in one or two of our Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams in the Surgical Directorate. The postholder will be expected to provide cover during periods of annual leave or sickness absence. The main responsibilities include:
1. Work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and associated clerical staff to ensure the timely movement and tracking of cancer and potential cancer patients from referral onwards.
2. Identify barriers to the patient pathway or potential breaches of waiting time guarantees and escalate as appropriate.
3. Facilitate collection, analysis, and presentation of audit data to monitor patient care.
4. Coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings for cancer patients to ensure smooth and timely patient management, providing necessary data for decision-making.
5. Provide secretarial support to the Specialist Nurse team.
