About North Middlesex Hospital
The hospital features a new purpose-built Accident and Emergency Department with a Gynaecology Emergency Room. It has an active Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit/Emergency Gynaecology Unit, equipped with two trained nurse ultrasonographers, two ultrasound machines with pulsed colour Doppler, and daily beta-hCG assays. The hospital is designated as a Cancer Unit within the North Central London Oncology network.
Facilities include modern equipment for minimal access gynaecological surgery, such as video cameras, laparoscopes, hystero-resectoscopes, and Novasure endometrial ablation. The service's success has increased demand for minimally invasive surgeries, with weekly outpatient hysteroscopy clinics. There is also a weekly gynaecological urodynamic session, supported by a senior nurse incontinence advisor and an active incontinence support group with a senior physiotherapist.
Gynaecology Services
Our department provides advice and treatment for a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including pre-menstrual problems, fertility issues, bladder dysfunction, uro-gynaecology, clinics for FGM women, colposcopy, menopause, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage, fibroids, and collaborative work with UCLH in gynaecological oncology. This post is ideal for consultants seeking to make a significant impact in a busy inner-city London university hospital.
