Flintshire and Wrexham (East) CAMHS are seeking an experienced Accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapists with a core profession, to join our team at a very exciting time as we review and work to improve all aspects of our service delivery.

Relocation packages are available.

Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS offers a 0-18 service to children, young people and families. We provide an extensive offer to our local community including significant early intervention and prevention services, unscheduled care, an Early Years 0-7 service and a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions. We are a dynamic and committed multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapists, Child Looked After and CAMHS Practitioners with a range of core professional backgrounds and Assistant Psychologists. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships.

We are proud of our commitment to supporting continuing professional development for our team and have recently supported and funded clinicians to attend training in a range of interventions relevant to their role including Solution Focussed training, Motivational Interviewing, VIG, IPT-A, CBT, CBT-TF, EMDR and DBT. Regular in-service training takes place, alongside weekly peer case discussions, in addition to multidisciplinary team meetings.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a significant role in undertaking assessments and providing evidence based interventions to children, young people and families.

The post holders will be a key member of our team with involvement in multidisciplinary meetings, offering consultation and training. They will Care Co-Ordinate and provide supervision to colleagues. Involvement in developing and maintaining clinical skills within the wider team and service development will form part of this role. Regular supervision will be provided by an Accredited CBT supervisor.

We have excellent links with our partner service in Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS and involvement in initiatives across the area will also form part of this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification


Education and Training

* The post holder will have a recognised core profession such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology.
* BABCP (or equivalent board) Accredited CBT Psychotherapist.
* A recognised post-graduate, Masters-level qualification in the Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies
* Evidence of broad range of evidence based psychotherapies.
* Evidence of further training and development in specific therapeutic CBT approaches.


Experience

* Evidence of broad clinical experience of children and young people who are experiencing complex mental health needs.
* Providing focused Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies to this client group.
* Substantial experience in clinical practice post qualification or in therapeutic clinical practice.
* Experience working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS.
* Previous specialist CAMHS experience carrying out risk assessment with this vulnerable or high risk group.


Skills

* Able to demonstrate and teach CBT approaches to other professionals.
* Able to communicate effectively and deliver effective evidence based cognitive behavioural psychotherapies to children, young people and their families with highly complex psychological problems.
